About us

Web designers who'd rather explain than impress.

We're a small web design and development team based in Wallington. We build websites for businesses in Newport and across the UK, and we try to make the whole process feel less like a mystery and more like a conversation.

01What we believe

A website is there to help people decide. Everything else is decoration.

That idea shapes most of what we do. It's why we ask a lot of questions before we design anything, why we care about the words as much as the layout, and why we'll happily talk you out of features you don't need.

  1. Clarity before cleverness

If someone has to work out what you do, the website has already lost them. We'd rather say it plainly and let good design make it look effortless.

  2. Honest advice, even when it costs us work

If your current site only needs a few fixes, or a simpler option would serve you better, we'll tell you. Trust is worth more to us than a bigger invoice.

  3. Built to last, not just to launch

Tidy code, sensible structure and notes that make sense. If another developer ever needs to pick up your site, they shouldn't need to start again.

  4. Accessible by default

A website should work for everyone who visits, including people using a keyboard, a screen reader or an old phone on a slow connection. That's part of the job, not an optional extra.

02How we work

Remote by design, never hard to reach.

We don't have an office in Newport, and we won't pretend otherwise. We're based in Wallington and run every project remotely. In practice, that makes very little difference to how a project feels, because most of the useful work happens on a screen anyway.

Here's what it looks like day to day:

  • Video calls for the conversations that matter: the kick-off, design reviews and launch.
  • Shared design links so you can click through pages on your own phone and leave comments where they're relevant.
  • Written updates that say what's done, what's next and what we need from you, in plain English.
  • The same people throughout, so you never have to explain your business twice.

03Why work with a team outside Newport?

Distance matters less than understanding your customers.

A good website for a Newport business isn't about where the designer sits. It's about understanding who your customers are, what they search for, which competitors they're comparing you with and what would make them pick up the phone.

So that's where we put our effort. We'll ask about the areas you cover, the questions customers ask you most and the jobs you'd like more of. Then we shape the content and structure around those answers, so the site speaks to people locally without sounding like it was written for a search engine.

If you'd like to see what that looks like in practice, our web design page explains the approach in more detail.

04Who we suit

We tend to work best with people who want to be involved.

Not every business needs the same kind of web designer. We're usually a good fit for:

A developer working at a desk with two monitors showing code

Owner-run businesses

You want to deal directly with the people building your site.

Teams that have outgrown a DIY website

You need something that properly reflects the quality of your work.

Businesses with an old site that's quietly underperforming

You need a redesign that doesn't throw away what's working.

Shops and makers

You're ready to sell online with a clear, trustworthy ecommerce website.

Anyone who wants to update their own content

You'd rather not wrestle with a page builder, which is where our WordPress builds come in.

05Working together

What it actually feels like to work with us.

Web projects have a reputation for dragging on, going over budget and leaving people confused. We work hard to make sure ours don't.

You'll understand every decision

We explain why we've done things, not just what we've done. If something sounds like jargon, ask, and we'll put it more simply.

You'll always know what's next

Each stage has a clear outcome and a clear sign-off, so there's no wondering whether things are moving or who's waiting on whom.

You'll know what it costs

Your quote sets out what's included before we start. If you ask for something extra along the way, we'll tell you what it means for cost before doing it.

You'll be left in control

When the site goes live you get the logins, a short guide to editing it and a point of contact if questions come up later.
